Who We Are

The company Life Bond Management GmbH founded in summer 2001 acted as market opener for the trade with second-hand U.S. life policies in Germany. For the first time ever, in the year 2002 both private and institutional investors had the opportunity to invest in traded U.S. life insurance policies. With a total of five placed and invested closed-end funds (two private placements and three public funds in cooperation with BVT) and a currently managed insurance volume in an amount exceeding USD800m (face value), Life Bond ranks among the outstanding protagonists in the fields of consulting, design, structuring and management of capital investment opportunities in the secondary market for life insurance policies in the U.S.A.

An important part of Life Bond’s concept for success is the cooperation with qualified and experienced professional partners. So, for example, for a few years now Life Bond has been able to rely on the expertise of the internationally acknowledged experts of the Ulmer Instituts für Finanz- und Aktuarwissenschaften (ifa) in actuarial issues. In tax issues Life Bond has been resorting to the qualified advice of BLLW for many years.

Via its platform in Luxembourg, Lux Kapitalmarkt Management AG, Life Bond additionally offers know-how in the areas of design and structuring of suitable, internationally oriented investment opportunities into the asset category of traded life policies in the U.S.A.

Life Bond is a founding member of the German Bundesverband Vermögensanlagen im Zweitmarkt Lebensversicherungen e.V. (Association for Investments in the Secondary Life Policies Market) as well as a member of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA), the two most important associations covering the secondary market for life insurance policies. By medium of these associations Life Bond advocates the creation of transparency and standards in this new investment category.
